New walk-in hours at Hawthorn! Effective immediately and continuing until further notice, the Hawthorn Walk-in Center will accept walk-ins Monday through Friday from 9 am–2 pm. If you need help with mental health or addictions issues right away—no matter what day of the week it is—the first thing to do is to call the Washington County Crisis Line at 503-291-9111. The line is answered 24/7 by trained professionals who can help decide the best option for care. This may include helping you over the phone, connecting you with in-person help at Hawthorn, or arranging for a crisis team to come to you.
18JAV staff provide crisis services at the Hawthorn Walk-In Center in Hillsboro, Oregon. Hawthorn Walk-In Center is a place where Washington County adults, youth, and children can receive care and assistance in accessing ongoing treatment for mental health and addiction concerns. Services are short term, with a focus on safety planning, stabilization and linkage to ongoing care.
The following teams coordinate their services from this center:
- Washington County Crisis Team: In addition to seeing individuals at the Center, the crisis team also provides mobile services throughout Washington County in places such as schools, jails, emergency departments and individuals’ homes.
- Peer team: Peers are individuals who have lived experience with mental health or addictions challenges; they provide immediate and follow-up peer support services to individuals who come to the Hawthorn Walk-In Center. Intensive Transition Team: This Washington County-based team helps individuals transition from acute care hospitalization to community settings.
- Mental Health Response Team (MHRT): MHRT pairs clinicians with Washington County Sheriff deputies to respond to 911 calls with a mental health component.
- Hawthorn Substance Use Disorder Team: This team works in the community and at Hawthorn to help people connect to substance use disorder treatment.

Individuals who are already enrolled in services through Lifeworks NW or another agency should contact their provider in the event of a crisis.
